Richard "88 Fingers" Turner, Jr. is a phenomenal Producer, Songwriter, Performer, and Musician who is not a newcomer to the music arena. Richard began performing at the young age of 10. His first recording was at the age of 13. He has developed an extensive and varied musical background culminating jazz, gospel, stage play, and hip-hop over the years. He has proven to be an outstanding Director and Organist for several churches and choirs in the Los Angeles, California area, of which he resides.
Turner received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from California State University Dominguez Hills, and is frequently mentioned by many industry insiders that he overwhelmingly masters the piano and organ, with equal talent on the bass guitar and woodwinds. His moniker, "88 Fingers" was given to him by his peers, because of his exciting and expert playing of all 88 keys on the piano at every performance!
Richard Turner's unique versatility has been enjoyed in live performances with numerous industry giants throughout his career, including James Ingram (R&B), Robin Thicke (R&B), Teena Marie (R&B), Patti Austin (Jazz), Paul Jackson, Jr. (Smooth Jazz), Karen Briggs (Smooth Jazz), Billy and Marilyn McCoo (Gospel), Beau Williams (Gospel) and most recently, he has worked as Musical Director for Smooth Jazz Sensation-Saxophonist Eric Darius. He currently serves as Minister of Music at the Full Gospel Baptist Church in Los Angeles, along with helping develop at least six other congregations. His solo techniques can be heard on Hidden Beach Records release Unwrapped Volumes 1, 3, and 4; Yvette M. Devereaux Christmas Favorites on Violin & Piano, Christmas with Richard Turner, Jr. featuring Chemistry and Friends Volume 1; Hallelujah Time featuring The New Vision Mass Choir Volume 1.
Having formerly taught at Pasadena Music Conservatory, Compton Music Conservatory, as well as having been a representative of MIDISOFT, Richard has the pressing desire to educate aspiring musicians through the teaching and the performance of music and related arts. He is a gifted artist that strongly believes in sharing what God has given him.
